Basmati Rice

Basmati rice is a type of rice grown in the Himalayas and Pakistan. It is a long grain rice that is characterized by a light nutty flavor. It is remarkably long for a rice and becomes longer still when cooked. It can be either brown or white with the brown variety having more flavor.

Micro Biological Lab

Our microbiological lab is equipped in identifying & isolating of microorganisms such as e-coli & micro fungi.

Chemical Lab

MRM has a laboratory equipped with sophisticated equipment to access & estimate pesticide residues in paddy, conforming to international food safety & organic standards and also as per the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act.

Sorting Machines

A series of color sorters and multi sorters are installed at MRM production facilities. When the rice is passed through these series of sorting machines, it eliminates objects like glass particles, plastic granules, foreign material, dust materials, damaged rice, discolored and unwanted grain.

Zero-OX System

We have a Zero – OX system for treating organic raw commodities in natural environment for de-infestation. We further flush CO2 in our packs to ensure zero level infestation during its defined shelf life.

Water Treatment

MRM has introduced Reverse Osmosis Treatment to all the water used for par boiling and Steam Process. It controls totally dissolved water and prevents. Constant up-gradation of IT systems and technical knowledge is implemented to optimize production and minimize any wastage. To ensure the fool proof quality of the end product, we do systematic examination, checking and re checking of paddy and rice.

OUR STRENGHT

MILLING- The state-of-art processing plants for rice production have fully mechanized sophisticated processing procedures for different stages like de-moisturizing, temperature controlled drying, cleaning, de-husking, de-stoning, polishing, sorting and grading. In these hi-tech milling plants every stage conforms to international standards and stringent guidelines of process control are meticulously adhered to at every stage to ensure uniformity of grains without destroying fragrance, aroma and basic quality of grain. Most of the impurities, irrespective of their sizes and nature are completely removed in different stages of the passage of paddy through fork-like vibrating sieve, scalper suction fan and vibrating sieve incorporated in these machines.

Export Packing Plant Drying Plant

Unique fully automatic & mechanized on-line sensor based temperature controlled gradual drying system, with 12 tonnes per hour drying capacity, ensures consistent & uniform drying of paddy without breaking the delicate rice grain. The process mitigates any scope of fermentation and bacterial / fungal infections, simultaneously preserving its natural aroma.

Parboiling Plant

The process of parboiling uses processed soft water obtained from water treatment plant. The plant has specially designed soaking bins with sensor based sophisticated controllers for water temperature. The process is far superior than the conventional methods in terms of mitigating development of unwanted smells and ensures hygienic processing of the grain, preserving its fragrance and aroma during the processing. The requirements of soft water for parboiling process are met by an integrated water treatment plant.

Milling Plant

The three state-of-art milling plants of HARI RAM SURINDER KUMAR use 21st century technology from Satake of Japan. The online inflow and outflow mechanisms are fully computerized with the help of sensors. The plants have production capacity exceeding 10 tons per hour, and are equipped with number of Pre cleaners, De-stoners, Precision-sizers, Graders, Paddy separators, De-huskers, Magnets etc. The plant premises are environment friendly and fully protected against contamination by foreign particles. The series of colour sorters and multi sorters are installed at Bhagwati Lacto Vegetarian Exports (P) Ltd. When the rice is passed through these series of sorting machines it gets free from Glass pieces, plastic granules, foreign material, dust, damaged, discolored and unwanted grain.

Aspirated Rice Huskers

These high capacity huskers offer high performance and unmatched capability for removing husk from paddy rice. Its unique feeding mechanism gives it the ability to dehusk rice at a greater capacity than conventional huskers while breaking far less rice grain during the process.

Paddy Separators

This unit removes paddy from brown rice at capacities and efficiencies that are unmatched in the industry. Its three adjustable-position discharge systems coupled with the adjustable separating tray angle, allows flexibility in producing pure brown rice and paddy products

Plano – Shifters

The requirement of high capacity sizers is met by Plano-Shifters, which ensures uniform grading

Length Graders

To segregate rice grains of different sizers, HARI RAM SURINDER KUMAR has high capacity graders which ensure on line uniform grading at a comparatively high speed.

Vertical Abrasive Polisher

The high capacity abrasive whitener offers unmatched efficiency of milling with regard to power savings. Its low milling pressure helps in the maximization of head rice yield, and its ability to function efficiency on both low and hard milling applications makes it an ideal “first break” milling machine.

Colour Sorters

The series of optical sorting machines are used for operational flexibility & define the shade of colour of the grain, as well as the size of the offending spot. Its computer based monitoring system allows online tracking.

AGEING & STORAGE

Ageing in basmati is as essential as it is for wine and scotch. Ageing enhances the attributes of basmati by reducing moisture content, increasing aroma, length, taste and cooking results. ABOUT BASMATI

Basmati is a variety of long grain rice, famous for its fragrance and delicate flavour. Its name means “Queen of Fragrance” in Hindi. “Basmati” is long grain aromatic rice grown for many centuries in the specific geographical area, at the Himalayan foot hills of Indian sub-continent, blessed with characteristics extra- long slender grains that elongate at least twice of their original size with a characteristics soft and fluffy texture upon cooking, delicious taste, superior aroma and distinct flavor, Basmati rice is unique among other aromatic long grain rice varieties.

Varieties

The main characteristics of Indian Basmati Rice are as follows

Origin Authentic Basmati rice is sourced from northern India at the foothills of the Himalayas. Whilst Basmati rice can be sourced from India and Pakistan, Indian Basmati is traditionally considered premium.

Colour

The colour of a basmati is translucent, creamy white. Brown Basmati Rice is also available but the most commonly used is white Basmati.

Grain

Long Grain. The grain is long (6.61 – 7.5 mm) or very long (more than 7.50 mm and 2 mm breadth).

Shape

Shape or length-to-width ratio is another criteria to identify basmati rice. This needs to be over 3.0 in order to qualify as basmati

Texture

Dry, firm, separate grains. Upon cooking, the texture is firm and tender without splitting, and it is non-sticky. (This quality is derived from the amylose content in the rice. If this value is 20-22%, the cooked rice does not stick. The glutinous, sticky variety preferred by the chopsticks users has 0-19% amylose).

Elongation

The rice elongates almost twice upon cooking but does not fatten much. When cooked the grains elongate (70-120 % over the pre-cooked grain) more than other varieties.

Flavour

Distinctive fragrance. The most important characteristic of them all is the aroma. Incidentally, the aroma in Basmati arises from a cocktail of 100 compounds — hydrocarbons, alcohols, aldehydes and esters. A particular molecule of note is 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline.

Uses

Flavour and texture complements curries because it is a drier rice and the grains stay separate. Also suits biryani and pilau (where saffron is added to provide extra colour and flavour). Great for Indian & Middle Eastern dishes. Main benefits: Aromatic fragrance and dry texture.
